Another Bicyclos HEurope meeting in Budapest.
Happy to have Juanma Benito in our ranks for a short time from CSIC.
Your knowledge in the design of amphiphilic cyclodextrins and their use in gene delivery is simply stunning!

Can you spot the strange thing in the photo?
This shot we took at CarboHyde Budapest, before the meeting with our Bicyclos HEurope guests from CNRS, Ilse Manet and her team.
If you count closely, Italians and Hungarians are even!
How did this happen? 🙂
The upside is we can soon play a HUN-ITA soccer game!
What goes around, comes around!
As much as we enjoy having Italian colleagues at CarboHyde, now they are back in Italy, invading CNRS.
Milo, Mihaly, Szabolcs and Dani are collaborating with Ilse and Marco these days in Bologna thanks to the great support of Bicyclos HEurope MSCA SE project.
We know you miss Hungarian cusine badly, but keep in mind, Italian food is also acceptable. Mostly.
Is Dani learning NMR or cooking Grappa?
The secondment series of Bicyclos HEurope, our MSCA Staff Exchange grant continues, Dani is now working in Bologna, under the supervision of Marco Agnes and Ilse Manet.
We are happy to share this little beta version game that Balázs Attila Kondoros and Kristóf Felegyi put together during their Bicyclos HEurope secondment. Special thanks for the support and guidance of Angel Piñeiro and Rebeca Garcia-Fandino for their amazing work.
Molvelle AR Software was developed within the framework of the European Bicyclos project (EC-funded Staff Exchange project n° 101130235) in collaboration with the University of Santiago de Compostela, MD.USE Innovative Solutions S.L., Carbohyde, and IES Rosalía de Castro, Santiago de Compostela.
Enjoy!
Next stop: KU Leuven
Passengers: Mihaly & Milo
Hosts: Irene & Maria Antonietta Casulli
We cannot wait to see the cyclodextrin polymer magic and its implementation into medical devices!
Dani Bisericaru goes to Buenos Aires to learn from Carlos Modenutti and try to model how our cyclodextrins interact with some proteins we target.
Super excited about the outcome, enjoy your secondment, Dani!
On Day 1, we started with with students sharing results and plans from their secondments, then moved along to hear from PIs about challenges, possibilities and wishes regarding the project.
Day 2 was dedicated to science with our invited speakers Matthieu Sollogoub, Francesco Trotta and Dina Yannakopoulou followed by lectures from Jose Manuel Garcia Fernandez and Milo Malanga PhD (dreaming about making synthesis simple and sustainable) and we created some hypothetic ventures with Gergely Toth.
Day 3-4 was a mix of science and soft skills with analytical lectures (Ilse Manet and Szabolcs Béni) and cyclodextrins in electrosensors (Maria Antonietta Casulli). The last sessions of the workshop dealt with soft skills rather than science. Tamas Sohajda shared insights of using social media and AI for making science more accessible. Then Ilse Manet, Maria Antonietta Casulli and Barbara Ventura delivered a workshop about grantwriting.
And most importantly, behold the organizing committee from Eötvös Loránd University and CarboHyde:
A small CarboHyde delegation (Kristóf Felegyi and Balázs Attila Kondoros) is just starting their Bicyclos HEurope secondment in Santiago de Compostella under the fantastic support of Angel Piñeiro & Rebeca Garcia-Fandino.
Hopefully this short time will be enough for the guys to learn the basics of molecular modeling and do some fancy cyclodextrin stuff on their own.
