Today’s cyclodextrin is a great patent on unusual CDs: large-ringed ones. The systematic experimental study of the properties of the large-ring cyclodextrins (LR-CDs) as host systems was hampered for a long time by the inability to obtain individual LR-CDs in quantities necessary for experimental examinations.
