Cyclodextrin-based prodrugs are rare, yet not without examples. Here is, for instance, the idea from Tris Pharma and Paras Jain to create Oxybate-PEG ester prodrugs further bound to cyclodextrin. These compounds are useful in immediate-release and modified-release compositions for treating narcolepsy and other disorders.
