Today’s cyclodextrin comes from Hungary again, from Budapest University of Technology and Economics where the bioactive potential of cyclodextrins in attenuating biofilm formation in C. albicans was tested.

The bioactive potential of randomly methylated α- and γ-CD showed significant antifungal properties, as evidenced by a reduction in the biofilm formation.

Random methylated cyclodextrins also increased the antifungal activity of farnesol.
